FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I choose between quartz, granite, and marble?
Quartz is non-porous, stain-resistant, and nearly maintenance-free — most kitchens land here. Granite brings unique natural patterns and handles heat better; good for serious cooks. Marble is the classic luxury look but softer and more prone to etching from acidic liquids — better suited for bathrooms or pastry-focused kitchens. We walk you through samples in person or via slab photos before you commit.
Do you template in person or from plans?
Both. If your cabinets are installed, we template in person with a digital measuring system — most accurate for tight tolerances and seams. If you are still in renovation, we can template from your kitchen plans to keep the project moving, then verify on install day.
Can countertops be installed in a house that is under renovation?
Yes, and we coordinate closely with your general contractor. Countertops are typically one of the last items installed — after cabinets, before backsplash — so timing matters. We can lock a date once the cabinets are in and plumbing rough-in is complete.
What edge profiles are available?
Standard profiles include eased (square with a slight round), bullnose (fully rounded), ogee (decorative curve), and bevel. Mitered waterfall edges for island ends are also available. Most quartz and granite slabs support any profile; some marble varieties have edge limitations we will flag during selection.
How long does the whole countertop project take?
From template to install, most projects are 2–3 weeks. Template day itself takes 1–2 hours. Fabrication is usually 7–10 business days. Install day takes 4–6 hours for an average kitchen.
What maintenance does each material need?
Quartz: wipe with mild soap, no sealing ever needed. Granite: reseal every 1–3 years depending on use. Marble: seal annually and blot acidic spills immediately. We hand off care instructions specific to your slab at install.
